Name: Ronni Booth

Date of Birth: 8/21/63

Children: Steven, David, Brandon

Started Instructing: 1994

Ronni was born into the entertainment business. Many of her mother's closest friends were singers (both Opera and Country). Her father (a Joulliard graduate) has worked with many well known entertainers. Ronni studied both clarinet and guitar, and through her parents, has learned to appreciate many styles of music. Ronni also assisted her step-mother (a professional dancer and instructor) with lessons at several Catskill resorts. While in high school, Ronni was a member of a dance group that performed for half-time shows at football games.
Ronni became a Country dancer in 1994. Not long after, she found herself filling in as an instructor when the scheduled instructors failed to show. Ronni started assisting other instructors at clubs and parties, trying to learn everything she could about how to be a good instructor, and a year later started teaching on her own. To this day Ronni continues to observe other instructor's styles, always looking for a way to possibly improve her own teaching techniques. She is also a member of the National Teachers' Association (NTA) and Teachers' Independent Training Workshop.
Her strong music and dance background enables Ronni to distinguish the rhythm patterns in music, and choreograph dances with step patterns which flow smoothly together and match the music. When teaching dances created by others, she tries to find the most compatible song for the dance.
Although Ronni enjoys and appreciates other styles of music, and considers music and dance to be universal, when she teaches Country dancing, she teaches it to Country music. She is quick to remind people that "Country (music) is a style of music, not the music style of  a country. If you line dance to music that isn't Country, it's
not Country line dancing, it's simply line dancing".
Today Ronni lives in Idaho with her husband, Ken, and new son
Brandon.  She is taking a little break from dance instruction but not from Country Entertainment. Still owner of countryentertainment.com, she reviews music and dances and is always willing to share her expertise. All you have to do is ask.

Ronni's sharp eye for detail and vast knowledge of Country music earned her the position of Copy Editor on
"Country.com's Century of Country Definitive Country Music Encyclopedia".
