Name: "Miss Erica"

Date of Birth: 11/4/81

Started Instructing: 1999

Erica began her dancing career early in life. She started taking ballet lessons at the age of 6 and continued her love for ballet until she was 11. While she was at St. Agnes, her high school, she was a member of the cheerleading squad and in her senior year she became the co-captain.  Erica didn't spend all of her time in high school cheerleading, she also was the editor of her high school yearbook.  After graduation Erica went on to study at Manhattanville College.
One day Erica's cousin invited her to go Country dancing. She admits that she was hesitant in the beginning, but in the end decided to go. After learning a couple of dances that first night she was hooked, and started saving her money to buy a pair of boots. She began looking forward to going dancing every week and went through "Country Dance Withdrawal" when she couldn't make it.
After impressing Wild Bill and Ronni with the first dance she ever choreographed, Erica was invited to work with them. She was very excited, and although fairly new to country dancing, she learns dances like she has been doing it for a lifetime. Erica now enjoys traveling and working with her partner Wild Bill.

and now she is giving them all a reason." - Wild Bill

Erica was born with a genetic condition called albinism. This condition causes the absence of pigment in her skin and hair, and impairs her vision.  Throughout her life this has created some obstacles, but nothing she couldn't overcome. Erica has always worked to show people that, although she looks a little different on the outside, everyone is the same on the inside.
She believes that being in the entertainment business gives her the opportunity to educate others about albinism, to be herself and have people treat her like an equal. She knows that when she is dancing, people aren't looking at her because she is different, they are looking at her because she is good at what she is doing.
Erica and her family are members of the
National Organization for

Albinism and Hypo pigmentation (NOAH)
